Let Your Creativity Shine

Do you remember the simple joy of colouring as a child or how excited you got at the idea of finger painting? It was just plain fun! The ability to let go is something that many people lose as they get older. To really have fun, you have to be able to do so without analyzing it, or at least think of ourselves without picking apart every single thing someone ‘could’ find fault with.

So here are a few reasons why you should make more art, write more songs, bake more cookies, decorate more donuts, paint more furniture, journal more, colour more, diy more, design more, decorate your home, decorate your office, create a garden and make your life feel more like your own. It doesn't have to be perfect, but it does have to be "you."

CHILD LIKE FREEDOM

Creativity provides an opportunity to have complete freedom to do whatever you want. When it comes to creating, particularly creating art, there are no rules, just let go!

SELF EXPRESSION

Creativity connects you with yourself, and, the more you know yourself, the better equipped you are to take on life's challenges.

STRESS RELIEF

Get in the flow...that feeling when you're so absorbed in what you're doing that you forget what time it is, forget all of the things you've been worrying about, and are fully engaged in the moment.

INCREASED CONFIDENCE

You may think to yourself "But I can't paint!" or "I'm not creative,"  but, believe me, if you keep doing it, you'll improve. There’s nothing like feeling of stepping back and thinking ‘Wow, that’s pretty good, I can’t believe I did that!’

FUN FILLED CREATIVITY

Creativity leads us to pursue that childlike sense of wonder, it gives us permission to experiment in new and exciting ways. When you're doing something creative (and not for work!), you can do whatever you want.

PERSONAL GROWTH

The more you create, the more you learn about yourself, and the more you learn, the more you grow. You'll find yourself pushing yourself out of comfort zones you didn't realize you had. You'll find yourself able to create things you never knew you could.

SAFE MISTAKES

As you're creating, you're going to make mistakes and doing so teaches you that life is a balance of making things happen and letting them happen. Mistakes can be beautiful.

NEW IDEAS

Creativity also leads to new ways of seeing the world and experiencing life, which will inspire new ideas in all areas of your life! Experimenting becomes easier and more carefree.

These are just a few of the many benefits creativity has to offer, and you don't realize how much it can transform your life if you don't give it a try. If possible, do something creative this week (even if it's a little doodle!) and see how it feels to take something that existed only in your mind and put it on to paper!
